What You'll Do:

    • Draft and review legal pleadings, motions, briefs, testimony, contracts, and other business documents.
    • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to business units regarding regulatory requirements, compliance issues, and emerging legal developments.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on regulatory and litigation matters.
    • Represent the company in mediation proceedings, customer disputes, and other contested matters.
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting electric utilities and advise clients accordingly.
    • Manage multiple ongoing matters while meeting strict regulatory and litigation deadlines.

What You'll Need:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
    • 1–5 years of relevant in-house or law firm legal experience with utility regulation.

    • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Ability to build effective working relationships with professionals at all levels of an organization.
    • Strong initiative, work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new and complex subject matters.
    • Prior experience with state public utility regulation, administrative law, or appearances before utility commissions is preferred.
    • Electric utility industry experience is helpful but not required.
    • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
