- Advise on federal regulatory matters, including those involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
- Support the Company's strategic growth through acquisitions, expansion projects, and commercial initiatives.
- Provide legal guidance related to natural gas supply arrangements, transportation agreements, and securing additional gas volumes to support business growth.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a wide variety of commercial agreements, including transportation, gathering, processing, construction, services, confidentiality, and other operational contracts.
- Partner closely with operations, commercial, finance, and executive leadership to resolve legal issues efficiently and proactively.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, Board materials, and other executive-level legal responsibilities.
- Manage outside counsel as appropriate and oversee litigation and other legal matters when necessary.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the natural gas pipeline industry.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Approximately 10–15 years of legal experience, with substantial experience in the natural gas pipeline industry.
- Strong knowledge of FERC regulations and federal energy regulatory practice.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, Board members, business leaders, and operational personnel.
- Experience advising pipeline companies on commercial, operational, and regulatory matters.
- Demonstrated experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, strategic growth initiatives, or significant infrastructure projects.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Sound business judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with practical commercial solutions. The ideal candidate understands how to protect the Company while helping move transactions and strategic initiatives forward.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization, from field operations to executive leadership.
- Experience working within a private equity-owned company is strongly preferred.
