Our client, an electric and gas utility in Michigan, is looking to fill the role of Principal Attorney. This position will have responsibility for the preparation and prosecution of the Company’s rate and other regulatory matters, among other responsibilities.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare company’s regulatory filings, proceedings and related activity
• Provide legal advice and direction to the company to support regulatory strategy
• Guide, support, and oversee other legal staff
• Support other regulatory staff on other regulatory matters
• Help maintain company’s relationships with regulatory authorities and key stakeholders
• Manage outside counsel
• Support, interact, and communicate with company executive management & internal functions which impact regulatory process

What you will need:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law or eligible to become licensed in Michigan
• 7+ years’ experience in utility or state regulatory and administrative law
• Excellent written, verbal, & interpersonal skills
